"A Matter of Taste: Serving Up Paul Liebrandt"

The film was given the top honor of JBF Award for Best Documentary in the Book, Broadcast and Journalism category.

The film, directed by Sally Rowe, is about Paul Liebrandt, Chef of Corton in Manhattan's Tribeca. It's an intimate look inside the world of an immensely talented and driven young chef who has twice earned three stars from the New York Times: once when he was 24, and again a mere 8 weeks after Corton opened. The film follows Paul over a decade all the way through the debut of Corton, which earned two stars from the Michelin Guide in its first year of business.

Tribeca Grill Honored With Prestigious Grand Award

grand award 07.jpg

We are pleased to announce that Tribeca Grill has been awarded the prestigious Wine Spectator Grand Award for the 9th consecutive year! The Grill is one of only seven restaurants in New York City to earn the coveted honor. The Grand Award recognizes the world’s greatest dining establishments for wine. Only seventy-six restaurants worldwide received the award this year. Tribeca Grill is proud to be part of an esteemed group of restaurants that feature extraordinary cellars, exceptional wine service and fine cuisine.

Wine Director David Gordon’s impressive international list – 1,800 selections and more than 20,000 bottles – establishes Tribeca Grill as a worldwide wine destination. He is most proud of the more than 300 different Châteauneuf du Papes on the list, making it the largest collection in the world from that appellation.

Although all of the great wines areas of the world are covered, there is a special focus on California as well as Rhône wines. Highly allocated, artisanal producers such as Marcassin, Kistler, Williams Selyem, Bryant Family, Screaming Eagle, Harlan Estate and many others have vertical listings that have been cellared at the restaurant since release. More than 70 different Zinfandels are offered, the largest list in New York City. These wines, often produced from old, low yielding vines, have concentrated spicy flavors that complement the robust cuisine of Tribeca Grill’s Chef Stephen Lewandowski.

DREW'S LETTER

In 1985, we opened our first restaurant, Montrachet, with modest aspirations. Our objective was to offer wonderful food and wine without barriers and pretense. The service was caring but unobtrusive. We were passionate about showing our guests a good time, and soon developed a devoted following.

Montrachet was the inspiration that led to Tribeca Grill, Rubicon, Nobu, Mai House, Centrico and all of the wonderful restaurants that are featured on our website. We're sometimes described as "Empire Builders," but the truth is we've never had the ambition to build an empire. Our goal is to create a variety of dining experiences that are unique and memorable, so that you can visit one of our restaurants every night of the week and discover something new and engaging each time. The common thread through all of our restaurants is a level of professionalism that ensures that you receive genuine value for your dining experience.

We never forget that you are the reason we're in business. Your satisfaction is our primary concern. There are many places where you can dine, so when you choose a Myriad Restaurant Group Restaurant, you've put your trust in us. The challenge that excites us is the opportunity to exceed your expectations. Thank you for dining with us and Bon Appétit!
