Chefs vs. City with Chef Aarón Sanchez![]()
Chefs vs. City Acclaimed chefs Aarón Sánchez and Chris Cosentino are pitted against two local foodies in a winner-takes-all race through a different city each week, through the most fascinating, unusual food locations. Each team begins with a clue leading them to their first food challenge. Challenges could include everything from wine stomping to the eating the spiciest chili west of the Mississippi to diving for sea urchins! The five challenges take the chefs and foodies on an adrenaline-charged, food-lovers tour of each city, and once complete, it’s a sprint to the finish line to see if the locals can protect their home turf or if the Food Network chefs can conquer a new city.
Passion and expertise rule the kitchen on the fast-paced new series, Chopped. The series challenges four up-and-coming chefs to turn a selection of everyday ingredients into an extraordinary three-course meal. After each course, a contestant gets "chopped" until the last man or woman left standing claims victory. Each week, a rotating panel of culinary elite judges, including Centrico's very own Aarón Sanchez, will decide whose dishes shine the brightest and award the winner $10,000! Richard Betts at Crush & More!Thursday Night Tastings We believe that tasting wine is an integral part of wine education and enjoyment. There is no better way to learn about wine and what you like than to pull corks and sip ... and tasting is always more fun with other people. Crush holds a Thursday Night Tasting series, free every Thursday from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. For more information on Crush's offerings, click here or call Crush at (212) 980-WINE (9463). *************************************** Richard Betts comes to Crush for a FREE Betts & Scholl Tasting Tasting this Thursday Featuring Betts & Scholl 2005 Hermitage Rouge and 2005 Hermitage Blanc - 2006 Grenache "O.G." All we ask is that you RSVP to events@crushwineco.com! To make the event even sweeter, all the wines being poured will be discounted. Richard Betts is one of this country's great wine personalities. He was the Wine Director at Aspen's famous Little Nell restaurant for many years and this is where he met Dennis Scholl, an avid wine fan and art collector. The two of them had the idea to marry great wines with more affordable prices, to make food friendly wines of distinct pedigree. And for fun, they'd dip into Scholl's art collection to inspire their labels. This, in short, is the Betts & Scholl wine program. It's been one of our favorite wine world projects for quite a while and we've featured in our own email offerings both the Hermitages and the Grenache O.G. This upcoming Thursday, Richard will be in the store, pouring all of these wines, for free. This is a great opportunity to meet the man, and to drink and to talk about his excellent portfolio. All we ask is that you RSVP to events@crushwineco.com with the number in your party so that we can save you a space! See you Thursday! *************************************** Visit Crush's site at www.crushwineco.com. It will give you a good introduction to just a few of the thousands of ideas we have! And as always, all purchases can be luxuriously wrapped and delivered worldwide. Drew Nieporent, Bob Schagrin, and Josh Guberman

Tribeca Grill Honored With Prestigious Grand Award![]() We are pleased to announce that Tribeca Grill has been awarded the prestigious Wine Spectator Grand Award for the 6th consecutive year! The Grill is one of only seven restaurants in New York City to earn the coveted honor. The Grand Award recognizes the world’s greatest dining establishments for wine. Only seventy-six restaurants worldwide received the award this year. Tribeca Grill is proud to be part of an esteemed group of restaurants that feature extraordinary cellars, exceptional wine service and fine cuisine. Wine Director David Gordon’s impressive international list – 1,800 selections and more than 20,000 bottles – establishes Tribeca Grill as a worldwide wine destination. He is most proud of the more than 300 different Châteauneuf du Papes on the list, making it the largest collection in the world from that appellation. Although all of the great wines areas of the world are covered, there is a special focus on California as well as Rhône wines. Highly allocated, artisanal producers such as Marcassin, Kistler, Williams Selyem, Bryant Family, Screaming Eagle, Harlan Estate and many others have vertical listings that have been cellared at the restaurant since release. More than 70 different Zinfandels are offered, the largest list in New York City. These wines, often produced from old, low yielding vines, have concentrated spicy flavors that complement the robust cuisine of Tribeca Grill’s Chef Stephen Lewandowski.
